1881 – 1962

A painter and artist, Natalia Goncharova created sets and costumes for Daghliev’s Ballets Russes in 1920s Paris. Originally from Moscow, she had early success as a sculptor before joining the modern avant-garde movement which shunned traditional concepts of art. Much of her work was influenced by ethnic Russian folk art.
