The Irish Celebrate Leif Ericson Day

Durham, NH is the site for the annual Leif Ericson Day parade which goes from the laundromat on Main Street to Young’s Restaurant next door. My dad, Ted wanted to show up every year to celebrate the fact that Saint Brendan got here first. (At least the St. Brendan Society think so.)

Unfortunately, the parade is at 6:30 a.m. so we never made it. Feel free to make signs and be there tomorrow. I’ll be right behind you!

Watch the Leif Ericson parade from 2010.

Learn more about St. Brendan.

(You can Google that pretender Leif Ericson on your own.)

Oh, and by the way, Happy Columbus Day. (Yet another pretender.)
